Regional Wastewater Facility Upgrade – Ballot Issue 6A
Ballot Issue 6A, proposed by the Eagle River Water & Sanitation District (ERWSD), would fund state-mandated upgrades at the Regional Wastewater Treatment Facility in Edwards through a General Obligation (GO) bond. These improvements must be completed by 2029 to meet Colorado water quality regulations.
Why It Matters
The facility is the only facility that treats wastewater solids for the entire ERWSD service area from East Vail to Edwards, and these upgrades are essential to protect water quality. If the measure does not pass, the work will still proceed but could be funded through higher wastewater rates instead of property taxes.
EMD Board Position
The Edwards Metropolitan District Board has reviewed the proposal and adopted a resolution in support of Ballot Issue 6A.
