The Edwards Metropolitan District (EMD) invited residents to participate in a community survey to share feedback on local issues, programs, and services.

Thank you to everyone who participated in the Community Sentiment Survey. Your feedback provides valuable insight into local issues and the quality of services in the Edwards Metropolitan District. We greatly appreciate the time residents took to share their perspectives.
So, what matters most to the residents of the Edwards Metropolitan District? Our survey, with 277 respondents, highlighted several key priorities:
Traffic and Transportation
Not surprisingly, traffic, roads, and the need for additional transportation infrastructure were the most frequently mentioned concerns. Residents highlighted safety, congestion on Highway 6, and traffic bottlenecks at roundabouts as pressing issues.
Growth and Land Use / Development
The survey also revealed concerns about overdevelopment, high-density housing, and the preservation of natural areas and open spaces. Respondents noted the need for workforce housing and expressed concern that existing infrastructure is not keeping pace with growth.
Public Safety and Emergency Services
Public safety was another top priority, particularly fire protection, wildfire mitigation, and evacuation planning. These were consistently identified as critical issues for the community.

- Wildfire preparedness
- Street improvements
- Parks and recreation
- Pedestrian improvements
- Support for regional transit activities
- Landscaping and aesthetic improvements
These survey results provide essential insight into community priorities and will directly inform Board discussions, budgeting decisions, and service improvements. The Edwards Metropolitan District remains committed to transparency and responsiveness as we use this feedback to guide future planning and enhance the quality of services for all residents
